# Surf Badge

## What is SurfBadge?

SurfBadge is an exclusive on-chain badge that can only be earned through completing tasks on SurfLayer.

As users perform on-chain actions, SurfLayer acts as a gateway connecting them to various blockchains. By participating in Layer 1 and Layer 2 ecosystems, SurfLayer may secure ecosystem grants or incentive programs, which can then be shared back with the community through SurfBadge rewards.

## Why SurfBadge?

SurfBadge serves as verifiable on-chain proof of participation, enabling users to qualify for rewards funded through SurfLayer’s ecosystem collaborations.

* The more SurfBadges you hold, the higher your chance of sharing in future ecosystem-backed rewards.

## How to earn a SurfBadge?

Once SurfLayer successfully joins an ecosystem grant or sponsorship program, we will issue SurfBadges tied to that initiative.

To claim a SurfBadge, users must meet certain requirements set by SurfLayer — such as:

* Holding a minimum balance of SLPs
* Completing a required number of on-chain transactions
* Activity on a specific blockchain or across multiple supported chains

#### Important Note

SurfBadge does not guarantee direct rewards. The benefits associated with each badge depend on the availability and scope of external ecosystem programs.<br>
